Pre-Assessment Physical Profile

Prior to the assessment, each team member fills out a screening form and is returned two weeks prior to the assessment date to help customize the program to your office. We look at:

  • Working Position
  • Equipment Used
  • Any areas of the body

    In-Office Ergonomic Assessment

    An ergonomic assessment of the entire office, lab and operatories is performed. This portion of the assessment is completed during normal office hours with patients scheduled as usual.

    Assessment of operatory layout

  • Problem solving for various operatory layouts
  • Positioning the patient correctly in the operatory
  • Positioning the operator correctly in the operatory
  • Positioning the chair, trays, and delivery systems correctly
  • Correct positioning of the assistant in 4-handed dentistry

    Assessment of operator and assistant chairs

  • Correct adjustment of chairs
  • Assessment of seated posture
  • Special chairs for shorter operators

    Assessment of use of instruments & controls

  • Correct use of instruments
  • Correct use of magnification (scopes)
  • Correct use of controls

    Ergonomic Assessment and Recommendations Report

    Evaluation and recommendations are made for each team member, including front office, based on a Physical profile form and an Ergonomic Assessment.

  • Chairside stretching exercises

    Positioning Strategies to reduce work related injuries

  • Maintaining neutral spinal alignment - Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Curves
